Engineering Manager

**Role Overview**

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with a robust background in PHP development to lead and inspire our dynamic engineering team. This pivotal role requires a strategic tech leader with a minimum of 12 years in the tech industry, capable of managing high-traffic web platforms and driving innovation in our ecommerce or classified domains. **Key Responsibilities**

- Lead and mentor a team of over five engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Architect and implement scalable solutions to manage large-scale web traffic, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, utilizing Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, to deliver high-quality products on time.
- Drive the technical vision and roadmap for the platform, incorporating best practices in caching, cloud services, and database management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to align engineering efforts with business goals.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring successful delivery of initiatives.
- Analyze and optimize existing systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.

**Required Qualifications**

- A minimum of 12 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on PHP development and leadership roles such as Tech Lead, CTO, or IT Manager.
- Proven track record of managing high-traffic web applications, preferably in the ecommerce or classified sector.
- In-depth knowledge of PHP and caching technologies, with practical experience in tools like Redis, Memcached, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
- Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, and cloud platforms such as AWS, including DevOps practices.
- Proficient in database management, both SQL and NoSQL, with hands-on experience in systems like MongoDB.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering teams, with a focus on project management and team development.

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with modern development tools and methodologies, including JIRA for project tracking.
- Additional certifications in cloud computing or project management are a plus.
